I also believe it is a scenaristic choice, since Trials is happening during Cold War and under Murkoff Co.'s surveillance, with the players serving as "test subjects", so it would be rather unrealistic to carry around free cameras in order to reveal the horrors we're witnessing, when we're actually NOT free and under Murkoff's control. Serving as a prequel to the first two games, it delves into the events of a mysterious Cold War experiment involving test subjects. I think the big googles placed on our heads are actually the machines filming everything. The Outlast Trials, developed and published by Red Barrels, is a psychological horror survival video game and the third installment in the Outlast series. And I want to say GREAT: personally, carrying a camera around all the time gets kinda annoying, especially when you got to find batteries hidden here and there. To finish off, it doesn't seem like we'll be given a camera to film the events to witness throughout the game, compared to the other games' tradition. I especially like that point, because so far we've only been given experience as male characters, and get a woman to join the main cast is an interesting script choice. It also seems we're finally getting FEMALE characters in the game! Most likely a character to incarnate for players, judging by the trailer and teaser.
